International Financial Reporting Standards
The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Training is designed to corroborate the decision of the Nigerian Federal Government to adopt IFRS which is a clear effort aim at achieving and sustaining credibility and reliability of financial reporting in Nigeria in order to promote and sustain stakeholders’ confidence in published financial reports. Objectives: A. The overall objective of this training is to create a sound foundation for future accounting standards that are principles-based, internally consistent and internationally converged. B. Review and discuss the two IFRS authorized basic accounting models. C. Obtain a clear understanding of the meaning and purpose of internal control, how effective internal control may be achieved, respective responsibilities for effective internal control, and how to assess internal control effectiveness in public/private institutions.
